GURUGRAM: Police have arrested a 25-year-old bike taxi rider for allegedly killing his friend following a dispute over money in Sector 37. The accused, identified as Satish Tiwari, was taken into custody on Thursday, three weeks after the crime.

According to police, the victim, Faisal Idrisi (27), was murdered on December 24 at an industrial waste dump yard. Investigators said the dispute stemmed from a loan of Rs 15,000 and a disagreement over an unfulfilled promise of a larger loan.

An autopsy later recovered a fragment of a blade from the victim’s neck, which was handed over to police as part of the investigation.

A team from Sector 10 police station solved what was initially a blind murder case and traced Tiwari to a rented accommodation in Saraswati Enclave. Both the victim and the accused were natives of Uttar Pradesh — Idrisi from Mirpur Cantt in Kanpur district, and Tiwari from Raebareli.

Police said the accused was identified and tracked using CCTV footage and UPI transaction records. Further investigation is ongoing.
