BENGALURU: A 35-year-old food delivery agent was brutally assaulted by three men near Modi Hospital Junction on West of Chord Road around midnight on Saturday, after he refused to give way at a traffic signal.

The victim, Pemaram, a resident of Rajajinagar, had just completed a delivery and was heading toward Navarang Theatre when the incident occurred. While waiting at a red light, three men on a scooter reportedly honked and asked him to move through a narrow gap between vehicles. When Pemaram refused, the situation escalated.

“They got off the scooter, started abusing me, and then beat me for nearly eight minutes,” he told police.

The commotion caused a brief disruption in traffic, and a crowd soon gathered, prompting the attackers to flee the scene. Pemaram later received treatment at KC General Hospital and filed a complaint with Basaveshwaranagar police.

Authorities have launched a manhunt to trace and apprehend the suspects, who remain at large.
