NEW DELHI: The preliminary report on the June 12 Air India flight AI 171 crash in Ahmedabad is expected to be released later this week, the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) informed the Parliamentary Committee on Transport and Tourism on Wednesday.
As per aviation regulations, crash reports must be made public within 30 days of the incident, the bureau noted.
Sources told TOI that in response to queries from Members of Parliament, the civil aviation ministry also stated it is working on a comprehensive framework to address pilot fatigue. The ministry aims to roll out this new system by November and plans to increase related safety measures by October.
