BENGALURU: A 35-year-old woman was reportedly stabbed to death by her alleged lover in Pillanna Garden on Friday night. Renuka, a divorcee, was employed as a domestic worker. The suspect, Ambedkar alias Kutti, aged 50, operates a printing press. According to preliminary investigations, authorities stated that Renuka was walking near BBMP High School in Pillanna Garden at approximately 9:30 PM when Kutti confronted her on the street. He inflicted stab wounds to her chest and abdomen. When she attempted to defend herself, he also stabbed her hands before fleeing the scene, police reported, noting that the woman sustained at least eight knife wounds. A severely injured Renuka managed to reach Periyar Nagar circle, located about 110 meters from the school. Bystanders transported her to the nearby Dr. Ambedkar Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. The Kadugondanahalli police initiated a murder investigation following a complaint lodged by Renuka’s sister, who indicated that the victim had been subjected to harassment by the man. Renuka resided with her mother and her 11-year-old daughter. On Saturday, police apprehended Kutti, who asserted that he had been in a relationship with the woman. Authorities have confiscated the knife from Kutti, who is married and has no children.
