Hamilton Police in Canada are investigating reports that sewing needles were found inside Halloween chocolate bars collected by children while trick-or-treating.

Police said a parent reported discovering needles in Aero, KitKat and Caramilk bars on November 2. The chocolates may have been collected along Limeridge Road between Upper Ottawa Street and Upper Kenilworth Avenue.

Authorities have urged parents and caregivers to inspect Halloween candy before children consume it. Anyone finding suspicious items should preserve the candy and packaging and contact police.

An investigation is underway, and anyone with information has been asked to contact Hamilton Police.
