Heavy rainfall affected Bengaluru on September 30, causing waterlogging on several roads and leading to major traffic disruptions across the city.

The intense downpour significantly slowed traffic, with commuters facing lengthy delays on several routes. Water accumulation on roads made travel difficult in a number of areas.

Waterlogged roads and long delays

Manyata Tech Park and surrounding areas experienced significant traffic congestion as rainwater accumulated on roads. Traffic management personnel worked to regulate vehicles and maintain movement despite the challenging weather conditions.

Mahadevapura was also among the areas affected by waterlogging, with several roads experiencing substantial water accumulation.

Across the city, commuters faced difficult journeys as heavy rainfall combined with already busy roads, resulting in slow-moving traffic and extended travel times.

Traffic police issue advisory

Traffic authorities issued an advisory late on September 30 as heavy rainfall was forecast to continue.

Motorists were advised to drive carefully through areas where rainwater had accumulated and to avoid unnecessary travel during periods of intense rainfall.

Authorities also cautioned people against taking shelter in underpasses if doing so could obstruct the movement of vehicles or pedestrians. Road users were encouraged to check official traffic updates and use the designated traffic-information application and official channels for real-time information about congestion and incidents.

Traffic authorities said precautionary measures had been put in place to manage disruptions and urged residents to cooperate with personnel working to maintain the flow of traffic.

The rainfall nevertheless resulted in significant delays for many commuters, with waterlogged roads and congestion making travel considerably more difficult across several parts of the city.
