The capesize index, which typically transports 150,000-ton cargoes including iron ore and coal, also halted its five-day advance, decreasing by 0.8% to 5,052 points; and the supramax index shed 4 points, or 0.3%, at 1,608 points.
Conversely, the panamax index, which tracks vessels carrying around 60,000 to 70,000 tons of coal or grain, rose by 1.7% to its highest since June 15 at 2,275 points.
