The Union Cabinet on Friday approved the continuation of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme for five years, from 2026-27 to 2030-31, with a total financial outlay of Rs 3.1 lakh crore.
Under the scheme, eligible landholding farmer families receive annual financial assistance of Rs 6,000, paid in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 each. The government said the income support has strengthened farmers’ productive capacity and contributed to improving their livelihoods.
