A nursery teacher at a private school in Varanasi has been booked after allegedly branding the private parts of a five-year-old boy with a hot knife for urinating in his pants after being denied permission to use the washroom, police said.
According to the child’s father, the incident occurred on July 24 when the boy requested permission to go to the washroom during class. The teacher allegedly refused, forcing the child to urinate in his pants. Enraged by the incident, the teacher is accused of beating the child, taking him to another room and branding his private parts with a heated knife.
Following a complaint by the boy’s father, an FIR was registered on July 25 at Lalpur-Pandeypur Police Station against the teacher, the school principal and the school management.
Police have booked the accused under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including charges related to voluntarily causing hurt and criminal intimidation.
As part of the investigation, police have seized the school’s CCTV footage and DVR for examination and also inspected the school kitchen to verify the allegations. Authorities said the investigation is ongoing, and further action will be taken based on the evidence collected.
