A mass shooting at Seattle Center left two people dead and at least five others injured, according to local authorities.
The shooting occurred at Seattle Center, where thousands of people had gathered for the annual Bite of Seattle food festival.
Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots before panic spread across the venue. People were seen running in different directions and taking cover as gunfire erupted across the 74-acre park complex.
Police and emergency responders rushed to the scene, and authorities launched an investigation into the incident.
One witness told local media, “I heard bang, bang, bang, and then people started screaming.”
A spokesperson for the Seattle Police Department said he was on his way to the scene and could not immediately provide further details.
Kayla Carris, 22, who was sitting outside the Seattle Center Armory during the festival, described the panic that followed.
“People suddenly started screaming and running inside the Seattle Center Armory building,” she said. “Everyone was dropping their things and running. Everyone.”
Authorities have not yet released information about a suspect or a possible motive. The investigation remains ongoing.
