Several Delhi Metro station gates were temporarily closed on Monday as a precaution ahead of the Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) ‘Chalo Sansad’ march towards Parliament.
According to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), entry and exit gates at Janpath, Rajiv Chowk, Patel Chowk, Central Secretariat, and Seva Teerth metro stations were shut until further notice. Later, DMRC announced that the gates and interchange facilities at Rajiv Chowk and Central Secretariat had been reopened.
Thousands of CJP supporters gathered at Jantar Mantar before beginning the march, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged NEET-UG paper leak and other examination irregularities.
Climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, who has been on an indefinite hunger strike in support of the protest, remains admitted to Safdarjung Hospital after being removed from the protest site by authorities. The intervention followed a Delhi High Court order permitting action if his health worsened.
