A missing person’s complaint led police to the body of a 25-year-old woman inside a paying guest (PG) accommodation in Gurugram, while her boyfriend was later found dead near railway tracks in what police suspect to be a case of suicide.
According to police, the woman’s family approached the Sector-56 police station after they were unable to contact her. During the investigation, officers traced her mobile phone location to a PG accommodation in Sector 55, where her boyfriend, an AI engineer employed at the same private company, was staying.
After opening the room, police discovered the woman lying in a pool of blood with multiple bloodstains at the scene. Preliminary findings indicate that she was stabbed to death. A forensic team inspected the room and collected evidence for further investigation.
As the probe progressed, police linked the case to the death of the woman’s boyfriend, whose body had earlier been recovered by the Government Railway Police near Garhi railway station after he was hit by a train. His identity was confirmed through the mobile phone recovered from him.
Initial investigations suggest the woman had been staying with the man at the PG accommodation for the past three days before the incident.
Police have registered a murder case and are examining the couple’s mobile phones, call records, messages and other digital evidence to determine the motive behind the crime. Officials said all angles, including the nature of their relationship and the sequence of events leading to the incident, are being investigated.
