At least five people sustained burn injuries after a powerful explosion at the residence of a retired Army Subedar in Hans Nagar, Rewari on Monday, officials said.
All five injured were initially treated before being referred to a higher medical centre for specialised care.
According to local residents, the blast was so powerful that it shook the surrounding neighbourhood.
“There was a massive explosion. The police were informed afterwards and arrived at the scene. The cause will be determined after the forensic team’s investigation. The situation inside the house is severe. People nearby said it felt like an earthquake. There were five people inside, and four of them have been referred to Rohtak,” a local resident told ANI.
Police teams reached the spot soon after receiving information about the explosion and secured the area.
The blast caused extensive damage to the house, with household items being scattered and destroyed by the impact.
The exact cause of the explosion has not yet been determined. A forensic examination is underway, and authorities are continuing their investigation.
