A minor disagreement over parking space ended in tragedy in Delhi’s Dwarka area after a 26-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed to death and her husband critically injured by a juvenile neighbour in a shocking attack witnessed by the couple’s five-year-old son.

The incident took place on Saturday in southwest Delhi, where the accused, a minor and a distant relative of the victims, reportedly objected to a motorcycle being parked near a spot where his father usually stationed a food cart. Police have apprehended the juvenile and arrested his father in connection with the case.

According to family members, the dispute began when the teenager allegedly started shouting and banging on the motorcycle, demanding that it be moved. The woman, who worked as a domestic helper in the neighbourhood, stepped outside to resolve the issue. However, the argument quickly escalated.

Relatives claim the juvenile suddenly attacked the woman with a knife, stabbing her in the stomach. Hearing the commotion, her husband, a security guard who was at home on his weekly day off, rushed outside to intervene. He was allegedly stabbed multiple times in the upper body during the assault and remains in critical condition in hospital.

The victim’s brother-in-law also sustained minor injuries while attempting to stop the attack. Family members further alleged that the accused’s father was present during the incident and encouraged the teenager while the assault was taking place. Police are investigating these claims.

Authorities said they received a PCR call regarding the stabbing at around 2.50 pm. By the time officers arrived, the victims had already been taken to a nearby hospital by relatives. Doctors declared the woman dead on arrival, while her husband was admitted for emergency treatment.

The victim’s family alleged that tensions over the parking spot had existed for some time. They claimed the juvenile had previously threatened family members regarding the placement of food carts and vehicles in the area and that the husband’s motorcycle had been repeatedly damaged under suspicious circumstances.

The tragedy has left behind a five-year-old child who reportedly witnessed the attack. Family members said neither the child nor the injured husband has yet been informed of the woman’s death.

Police have registered a case and launched a detailed investigation into the incident. The shocking killing has once again raised concerns about how minor neighbourhood disputes can rapidly escalate into deadly violence, leaving families shattered in their wake.
