Jammu: A cloudburst in Bathoi village of Gulabgarh area in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district triggered flash floods on Thursday, damaging several houses and disrupting road connectivity due to mudslides. No injuries or fatalities were reported.

Officials said at least six houses suffered damage in the incident, which marks the fifth cloudburst reported in the Jammu region over the past three days amid continuing adverse weather conditions.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said he had reviewed the situation with district authorities and directed immediate relief measures for affected families.

In a post on X, Sinha said, “Spoke with the Deputy Commissioner of Reasi to assess the situation following the cloudburst in Bathoi village. While several houses have been damaged, fortunately no casualties have been reported. I have directed the administration to provide immediate assistance and relief to the affected families.”

Meanwhile, inclement weather in Kishtwar district on Friday prompted authorities to suspend the annual pilgrimages to the Shri Machail Mata and Shri Mindhal Mata shrines as a precautionary measure.
