A 25-year-old married woman was found dead under suspicious circumstances at her parental home in Kalyan, Maharashtra, prompting police to launch a manhunt for her father, who is suspected of involvement in the case.
The victim, identified as Gayatri Shinde, was discovered inside her family’s flat in the Parekarwada area of Kalyan on Monday evening.

According to police, Gayatri had married Akshay Shinde, a resident of Bhiwandi taluka, in November 2025.

Police said the family had spent Sunday together, first watching a film and later visiting the nearby Kala Talav area.
Relatives described the day as normal, with no indication of any conflict or distress.
The situation came to light on Monday night when Gayatri’s mother returned home from work and found the apartment door unlocked.
Body Found in Pool of Blood
Upon entering the flat, the mother allegedly discovered her daughter lying in a pool of blood and immediately alerted relatives and the police.
A preliminary medical examination indicated that Gayatri had been attacked with a sharp object and sustained a fatal injury to her forehead.
The exact cause of death will be confirmed through a post-mortem examination.
CCTV Footage Under Scrutiny
Investigators are closely reviewing CCTV footage from the residential building.
According to police, the footage allegedly shows Vinod Vasaikar returning to the apartment unexpectedly on Monday morning and leaving hurriedly around 4 pm.
