Ahmedabad: A 42-year-old man from Gandhinagar’s Kudasan area was found dead in his residence after being out of contact with family members for several days. Police are treating the case as an alleged suicide and are investigating the circumstances that led to the tragedy.
The man, identified as Pankaj Bhansali, had reportedly been unemployed for nearly five months after losing his job with a stock market-related firm in Infocity. According to preliminary findings, he had also been facing financial difficulties and debt-related stress in recent months.
Family Raised Alarm After Losing Contact
Bhansali’s wife and daughter had been staying with relatives since mid-May. Family members told police that the couple last spoke on May 22, after which his phone remained switched off.
Concerned by the lack of communication, his wife and her brother visited the family’s residence at Poonam Residency in Kudasan on Wednesday. Upon arriving, they found a handwritten note outside the home and later discovered him deceased inside the residence.
Police believe the death may have occurred several days before it was discovered.
Note Showed Concern for Loved Ones
Investigators said the note left behind primarily expressed concern for the safety of family members, particularly his young daughter. The message cautioned relatives before entering the house and reflected his concern for their well-being even in his final moments.
Financial Stress Under Investigation
Police recovered evidence from the scene and have registered an accidental death case while continuing their inquiry.
Family members informed investigators that Bhansali had been under considerable stress due to unemployment and financial challenges. Authorities are examining all aspects of the case to determine the exact sequence of events leading to the tragedy.
