GURGAON: A woman cab driver was allegedly assaulted in broad daylight near Ambience Mall on the Delhi-Jaipur Expressway, prompting police to register a case and launch an investigation.
Police identified the complainant as Rajni, a resident of Badarpur in Delhi, who works as a cab driver across the Delhi-NCR region.
In her complaint, Rajni stated that the incident occurred on Tuesday evening while she was travelling from Delhi towards Gurgaon.
According to police, an unidentified motorcyclist allegedly came in front of her cab near Ambience Mall, forcing her to apply sudden brakes and stop the vehicle.
Rajni alleged that the man began misbehaving with her immediately after she stopped the cab. When she objected, the accused allegedly assaulted her before fleeing the spot.
The victim informed police soon after the incident, following which an investigation was initiated.
Police said CCTV footage from cameras installed near the area is being examined to identify the motorcycle registration number and trace the accused.
An officer from the DLF Phase-3 police station said further action will be taken based on the evidence collected during the probe.
A case has been registered under Sections 115 and 126 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
