INDORE: Five police personnel in Indore have been suspended for allegedly breaking into a house, misbehaving with residents, and stealing gold jewellery, officials said.

The incident reportedly took place on the night of April 1 and came to light after the victim filed a formal complaint.

Forced entry and misconduct alleged

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 2) Kumar Prateek said the accused officers allegedly forcibly entered the house by breaking the door and behaved inappropriately with the occupants.

“Following the complaint, all five policemen have been suspended,” he confirmed, adding that a departmental probe is underway.

Investigation underway

The inquiry is being conducted by the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Vijay Nagar. Officials said the personnel had gone to execute a warrant related to a cheque bounce case involving an individual linked to a financial dispute.

However, the complainant has alleged that during the incident, around 20 tola of gold jewellery was stolen.

Police said further action will depend on the findings of the ongoing investigation, and anyone found involved will face strict consequences.

Separate incident: man stabbed over parking dispute

In a separate case, a 35-year-old man, identified as Surendra Sahu, was allegedly stabbed to death following an argument over bike parking in the Gauri Nagar area under Hira Nagar police station limits.

The incident occurred on Sunday evening when the victim had attended a wedding with his eight-year-old son.

Police said multiple eyewitnesses were present at the scene, and their statements are currently being recorded as part of the investigation.
