TIRUPATI: A 17-year-old boy was allegedly murdered by his uncle in a brutal attack near Pamurayi village in Anantapur rural mandal of Andhra Pradesh, police said on Sunday.
According to police, the accused had long suspected that the teenager—an intermediate student at a local college—was involved in an illicit relationship with his wife. The suspicion had led to repeated arguments between the two, with the uncle reportedly warning the boy to stay away.
On Saturday night, the accused, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, called the boy to meet him on the pretext of resolving their dispute. He then took him to an isolated cement bricks factory on the outskirts of the village.
Police said the discussion soon escalated into a heated argument, during which the accused allegedly attacked the boy with beer bottles before bludgeoning him to death using cement bricks. He then fled the scene.
Authorities reached the spot after receiving information, shifted the body to the Government General Hospital in Anantapur for post-mortem, and registered a case.
A manhunt has been launched to trace and arrest the accused. Police said further investigation is underway.
