Maritime Partners has placed the M/V Deirdre Ann into service, adding a newly built inland pushboat from FMT Shipyard in Harvey, Louisiana, to its fleet, according to a primary-source release distributed by Laborde Products.

The vessel is powered by two Mitsubishi S6R2 Tier 3 main engines, each rated at 803 horsepower at 1,400 rpm, with commissioning handled by Laborde Products, reinforcing ongoing fleet renewal in the US inland towboat segment.

Delivery was paired with sister vessel M/V Beth Williams, also built by FMT Shipyard and fitted with Mitsubishi propulsion supplied by Laborde Products, pointing to a standardised newbuild specification built around Tier 3 inland compliance and operational continuity.

“When one of our vessels goes to work, operators need power they can trust,” said Chris Miller, director of newbuild programs at Maritime Partners. “The S6R2 gives us the performance profile we want, and Laborde gives us the local support that keeps downtime to a minimum. That combination lets our customers take delivery of a boat that is ready to work from day one.”

Laborde Products selected the engine package for “strong torque, predictable fuel performance, and straightforward maintenance,” supporting long-term vessel uptime, said Bradley Matte, Gulf Coast territory sales manager.

Maritime Partners is a US-based vessel leasing and financing company established in 2015, providing structured capital solutions for inland, coastal and Jones Act-compliant blue-water vessels across multiple asset classes.

FMT Shipyard is a privately operated shipbuilding facility in Harvey, Louisiana, located between the Mississippi River and the Intracoastal Waterway, specialising in the construction and repair of inland marine tonnage.

Laborde Products is a US supplier and distributor of marine and industrial engines, acting as a regional representative for Mitsubishi propulsion systems and providing integration, commissioning and technical support services.
