HUBBALI: A man has been arrested for allegedly killing his wife in Karnataka’s Kalaburagi district, in an incident that was partially captured on video and later circulated on social media.
The victim, 26-year-old Saheli from Baramati in Maharashtra, was travelling with her husband, Akshaya, towards Devalagapur in Afazalpur taluk when the incident occurred near Balurgi village on Thursday.
According to police, the accused stopped the car along a roadside stretch and allegedly attacked his wife, leading to her death. Authorities also stated that the vehicle was used during the crime.
Passersby reportedly witnessed the incident, and some recorded videos that later surfaced online.
Senior police officials, including Superintendent of Police Addur Srinivasalu, along with local officers, a dog squad and forensic teams, visited the scene and began an investigation.
Police said the motive behind the crime is yet to be determined. A case has been registered at Afzalapur police station, and further investigation is underway.
