BENGALURU: A 25-year-old man was arrested on Sunday for allegedly threatening a family travelling in a car with a knife following a road rage incident in Whitefield.
The episode, captured on the car’s dashcam near Nexus Shantiniketan Mall on Friday evening, was later shared on social media, prompting swift police action.
The accused has been identified as Sayed Arbaz Khan, a resident of KG Halli who works as an assistant at a fish shop in RT Nagar. Police said he has a criminal history and was previously arrested in four cases, including those related to preparation for dacoity and housebreaking.
According to the dashcam footage, the car’s occupant can be heard questioning a two-wheeler rider over alleged abuse. The rider, later identified as Khan, had stopped a short distance ahead, walked back to the car, pulled out an object from his pocket, and threatened, “Don’t make noise. You will die,” before walking away. The man inside the car is then heard reacting in shock, saying, “What is this? He has pulled out a knife.”
Police said the accused was taken into custody and further investigation is under way.
