American conservative influencer Nick Sortor has claimed he was robbed in the Cedar-Riverside neighbourhood of Minneapolis on Sunday, saying the incident was captured on video and is now under investigation.
In a series of posts on social media, Sortor alleged that a group of men stole his camera, worth about $1,000, and dragged him along the sidewalk during the encounter. He said the FBI had taken up the case and that an investigation was under way.
“The FBI is now involved. I will not surrender to these attackers,” Sortor wrote on X, thanking FBI Director Kash Patel and the bureau’s Rapid Response Team for their response.
In an earlier post sharing video footage, Sortor described what he said happened during the incident: “They dragged me down the street as my hand got caught in their door handle. Nobody stopped to help.”
The incident occurred just hours after a small pro-ICE rally was held in Minneapolis on Saturday, led by January 6 Capitol riot participant Jake Lang, who was later pardoned by former US President Donald Trump.
