Improved housing for industrial workers, expansion of Integrated Manufacturing Townships (IMTs), a convention centre and the rollout of the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) are among the key elements of a major development drive announced by Haryana. As part of the plan, land has been earmarked to build dormitories and single-room accommodation close to workplaces—5 acres in IMT Bawal, 2.76 acres in IMT Faridabad and 5.47 acres in IMT Sohna.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini outlined the initiatives while continuing a series of pre-budget consultations with stakeholders. He met industry leaders and professional groups to gather feedback and suggestions for the upcoming state budget.

“There will be a special focus on budgetary provisions for Haryana’s industrial development. The more concrete and implementable the suggestions, the more effective the budget will be,” the chief minister said, adding that every proposal received during the consultations would be considered seriously.

As part of its industrial expansion plans, the government has identified nearly 5,800 acres for extending IMT Kharkhoda. The land will be acquired under the Industrial Policy–2022 at a rate of Rs 3 crore per acre, signalling accelerated industrial growth. In Sonipat’s Kharkhoda area, the state is also planning a 10,000-acre satellite city to cater to future population and economic expansion. A wholesale market proposed in Rai has already drawn early interest from traders.

The government reaffirmed its commitment to setting up an electric vehicle (EV) park, while a detailed project report for the Rs 70,000-crore RRTS has been finalised, with tenders expected to be floated soon. A convention centre is also planned in Manesar.

Saini said the government is focused on delivering on its budget promises, noting that several announcements made in the previous budget have already been implemented. In 2025, the state had announced the regulation of industries operating outside designated industrial zones, and recently launched a dedicated portal allowing such units to apply for regularisation.
