Noida: Two men have been arrested for allegedly killing their friend by pushing him from the 15th floor of an apartment during a New Year’s Eve party at Amrapali Golf Homes Society in Bisrakh. Police said five other people who were present at the flat at the time of the incident are still absconding.
According to Additional DCP (Central Noida) Santosh Kumar, the arrested accused—Dheeraj Kumar Singh (25) and Vishal Mishra (25)—were celebrating with Vineet Raj (31) and other friends when a dispute broke out late on December 31.
Investigators said Raj was not the intended target. The accused were allegedly searching for another man with whom they had a long-standing enmity. However, a quarrel erupted with Raj, which escalated into violence. “A scuffle broke out, after which the accused thrashed Raj and pushed him from the balcony,” the officer said.
An FIR has been registered under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including Sections 191 (rioting), 3 (common intention) and 1030 (murder).
Police said multiple teams have been formed to track down the remaining five accused—Badal Thakur, Prince Kumar Thakur, Omprakash, Harshit Kumar alias Harsh, and Sheri—who are currently on the run.
