Jaipur: The Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Rajasthan Police on Monday arrested another accused in connection with the SI Recruitment Examination-2021 scam, in which a dummy candidate appeared to secure selection.

The arrested accused is a suspended second-grade teacher who allegedly acted as a key facilitator in the fraud. Additional Director General (SOG) Vishal Bansal said the accused has been identified as Sunil Kumar Vishnoi (31), a resident of Sankad village under Sanchore police station in Jalore district.

“Sunil Kumar was posted at the District Education Officer (DEO) office in Sirohi and is currently under suspension. Our investigation revealed that he helped arrange a dummy candidate, Harsanram Devasi, to appear in the examination in place of the original candidate, Daluram Meena,” Bansal said.

Using this fraudulent method, the candidate not only cleared the examination but also reached the final stage of selection, officials said.

In the case, the main accused Daluram Meena, dummy candidate Harsanram Devasi and accomplice Ummed Singh had already been arrested earlier. “After their arrest, Sunil Vishnoi’s role as a key facilitator came to light, following which he was taken into custody,” the ADG added.

The SOG also said Sunil Kumar Vishnoi had earlier been arrested in another case linked to the Physical Education Teacher Recruitment Examination-2022, where he allegedly accepted money to provide a dummy candidate to an aspirant.

Further investigation is underway to identify other members of the racket and trace financial transactions connected to the recruitment scam.
