A teenager stabbed a security guard and fatally wounded a 10-year-old primary school student at an educational institution in Gorki-2 on Monday morning, Russia’s Investigative Committee of Russia told RIA Novosti.
According to the statement, the minor attacked both the guard and the student with a knife; the child later died from his injuries. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia said the attacker first sprayed pepper spray into the security guard’s face before stabbing the 10-year-old boy.
The suspect was detained at the scene and is being taken for questioning by investigators. Videos circulating on social media show armed police entering the school following reports of casualties.
Classmates told media outlets that the attacker, identified as a ninth-grade student, had shared a video and a manifesto in a class chat shortly before the incident. RT reported that the teenager was wearing a “No Lives Matter” T-shirt and a pagan symbol known as the Kolovrat.
A criminal case has been registered on charges of murder. Investigators and forensic teams are examining the scene, while students were evacuated to a nearby youth centre opposite the school building.
