BIJNOR: A 23-day-old infant died of suspected suffocation while sleeping between his parents late Monday night in Sihali Jageer village of Uttar Pradesh’s Amroha district.
Doctors believe one of the parents may have unknowingly shifted during sleep, exerting pressure on the newborn.

The mother discovered the baby unresponsive the next morning, after which the family rushed him to the local community health centre, where doctors declared him dead.

The child was the couple’s only baby, born four years after their marriage. CHC in-charge Dr. Yogendra Singh said the family has not lodged any complaint, and no legal action has been initiated.
