NEW DELHI: An IndiGo aircraft operating from Mumbai was damaged after a bird strike on the runway at Jolly Grant Airport near Rishikesh in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. All 186 passengers on board were reported safe.
The incident occurred around 6:45 pm when the nose of IndiGo flight IGO 5032 hit a bird during landing, according to PTI. Airport authorities subsequently carried out a thorough inspection and safety check of the runway.
The incident comes just days after another IndiGo flight—from Guwahati to Delhi—was delayed by three hours due to a technical issue.
