JAMMU: In a move to strengthen public participation in anti-terror vigilance, police in Jammu & Kashmir’s Poonch district have announced a ₹5 lakh reward for anyone providing credible, specific, and actionable information on the presence or movement of terrorists or their associates. Police assured that the identity of informers will be kept strictly confidential to ensure their safety.

“People are urged to report anyone passing information about the movement of security forces, or facilitating finances, recruitment, networking, or coordination for terrorist activities,” the police said in a statement issued Monday.

Earlier, on December 31, 2023, police had announced cash rewards totalling ₹12.5 lakh for information related to trans-border tunnels, drone activity, and other actions by anti-national groups.

Meanwhile, security has been tightened at the Jammu railway station following the busting of a “white-collar” terror module linked to the November 10 blast in Delhi.
