NEW DELHI: Security forces on Saturday thwarted an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Keran sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district, killing two terrorists during a joint operation.
According to the Indian Army’s White Chinar Corps, “Operation Pimple” was launched on November 7 following specific intelligence inputs about possible infiltration. The terrorists were subsequently trapped after contact was established.
“Two terrorists have been neutralised by security forces in the ongoing operation. Search of the area is in progress,” the Chinar Corps said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
Providing details, the Corps added, “On 07 November 2025, based on specific intelligence input from agencies regarding an infiltration attempt, a joint operation was launched in the Keran sector of Kupwara. Alert troops noticed suspicious movement and challenged the infiltrators, who responded with indiscriminate fire. Contact was established, and the terrorists were trapped.”
This comes days after another encounter in the Chhatru area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district on November 5. Security forces, acting on intelligence inputs, launched a joint operation involving the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police.
During the early morning operation, the troops came under fire, triggering a fierce exchange. The Army’s White Knight Corps confirmed the encounter in a post on X, stating:
“Contact with terrorists established in an intelligence-based operation conducted jointly with J&K Police in the Chhatru area. Fire exchanged with terrorists. Operation in progress.”
