Wan Hai Lines its vessel WAN HAI A19, while transiting the Eastern Pacific Ocean, successfully rescued two persons adrift at sea on November 6, 2025 (UTC).

The vessel received a search and rescue request from the U.S. Coast Guard Joint Rescue Coordination Center Alameda (RCC Alameda) concerning two survivors whose boat had sunk. WAN HAI A19 immediately altered course and conducted a coordinated search under RCC direction.

At position 03-57.17N / 110-44.43W and brought them safely onboard. After initial assessment, the survivors were found to be in stable condition. Based on identity information obtained onboard, one of the survivors is a national of Guatemala and the other is a national of Ecuador.

At present, the two rescued individuals remain onboard WAN HAI A19, receiving warmth, nourishment, hydration, and ongoing medical observation. In coordination with RCC Alameda, WAN HAI A19 is currently proceeding to the closest designated rendezvous point near the coast of Guatemala, where the survivors will be safely transferred to the appropriate receiving authority.

This rescue operation not only fulfills the vessel’s obligations under the International Convention on Maritime Search and Rescue, but also reflects Wan Hai Lines’ deep respect for the value of human life and commitment to humanitarian assistance.
