The lifeless body of a 27-year-old IT engineer was discovered hanging in a hotel room located in the Indirapuram area, according to police reports.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Nimish Patil stated that the deceased has been identified as Rajat Pratap Singh, who resided in Raksha Puram Colony in Meerut. He was employed by a private firm in Noida.
Authorities indicated that initial findings from the post-mortem report suggest that Singh’s death was a result of suicide.
He had been occupying room number 203 of the hotel for the last three days. The situation was revealed when hotel personnel notified the police after Singh failed to respond to persistent knocks on his door.
Law enforcement arrived at the scene and entered the room in the presence of witnesses. They discovered several documents and empty liquor bottles within the room. Officials reported that no suicide note was located.
Although Singh’s family has not filed a formal complaint, they have expressed suspicions of foul play, asserting that he was murdered.
Nevertheless, police are treating the incident as a suicide and have commenced a review of CCTV footage to identify any visitors during his stay.
According to family accounts, Rajat was allegedly experiencing depression due to a personal matter. The investigation remains active.
