A significant altercation occurred at the Bass Pro Shops in Odessa, Texas, shortly after its opening. Footage of the event circulated extensively online, eliciting various reactions from viewers.
The incident reportedly took place on the afternoon of November 1, involving multiple individuals as depicted. The footage begins with two men – one dressed in a grey t-shirt and the other in a black cap – engaging in a physical confrontation. As they exchange blows, a man wearing an orange t-shirt and jeans steps in to assist, striking the individual in the black cap. The man in the cap is subsequently knocked to the ground and attempts to wrap his legs around the neck of the man in the orange t-shirt, who continues to strike him despite the situation.
Additionally, it reveals another fight occurring in the background between two other individuals. Eventually, staff members and other patrons intervene to disperse the altercation.
Multiple individuals responded depicting the altercation at the sporting goods store. Some speculated that it was likely a result of a football rivalry.
“The longhorn fans,” one individual commented in a reply on X. Another remarked, “Someone probably mentioned something about UT.” A further inquiry was made, “Football rivalry?”. In contrast, another individual stated, “Texas fans should be restricted to Wal-Mart.”
Importantly, the official reason for the outbreak of the fight remains unknown. One user on X asserted that they heard it began because someone was taking an excessive amount of time in the restroom. However, this claim has not been substantiated.
A user who shared the video claimed to have conversed with the individual who filmed it. The person who recorded the footage allegedly stated that the fight ‘could have been prevented’, and added that individuals were at risk due to the confrontation, particularly with children present.
The Bass Pro Shops in Odessa opened just a few days ago, towards the end of October. It has been reported that the 100,000-square-foot establishment opened following months of anticipation.
