NEW DELHI: An Army jawan, identified as Kapil Kavad, was assaulted by toll plaza workers in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut on Sunday night.
Police said the incident took place at Bhuni Toll Plaza on the Meerut–Karnal highway when Kavad was on his way to Delhi airport with his cousin to rejoin duty.
Viral video footage from the scene shows multiple toll employees beating the jawan and tying him to a pole.
Meerut police confirmed that four people have been arrested in connection with the assault, and CCTV footage from the toll plaza is being examined as part of the investigation.
