CHENNAI: A 75-year-old woman was sexually assaulted at her residence in Red Hills on Tuesday night by an unidentified man, according to police sources. The woman was alone at home when the incident occurred.
Authorities said the suspect approached the house and knocked on the door under the pretext of asking for water. Once the door was opened, he allegedly forced his way inside and assaulted the elderly woman.
Her cries for help alerted nearby residents, prompting the attacker to flee the scene before anyone could intervene. A case has been registered with the Red Hills police, who have since launched a manhunt.
