DIBRUGARH: Three soldiers sustained minor injuries after Ulfa (Independent) militants launched a grenade attack on an Army camp in Assam’s Tinsukia district early Friday, officials said.
The attack targeted the 2 Grenadiers’ camp at Kakopathar around 12.40am, when militants fired three grenades followed by about 30 minutes of gunfire using automatic weapons, an Army official confirmed.
“Troops responded immediately while taking precautions to prevent civilian casualties,” the official said, adding that the Army’s retaliatory fire forced the attackers to flee the area.
