At least 11 people were injured in a shooting Sunday night in Little River, a coastal town in South Carolina, according to local authorities.

The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m., Horry County Police said in a statement shared on social media. The victims were transported to nearby hospitals, though officials have not yet released information about the severity of their injuries or the nature of the wounds.

Police responded swiftly to the scene but have not disclosed what may have triggered the violence or whether any suspects have been identified. No arrests have been announced as of Monday morning.

In a follow-up update, police noted that more victims were continuing to arrive at hospitals via private vehicles, raising the possibility that the number of injured could increase.

Roughly 90 minutes after the shooting, authorities described the event as “isolated” and reassured residents that there was no ongoing threat to the community.

Dramatic footage from the scene showed a heavy emergency response, with dozens of police vehicles and ambulances lining the area. Sirens echoed through the night as first responders worked to secure the scene and aid the wounded.

The investigation remains ongoing.
